“In the pit, members of the Dayton Philharmonic were excellent. It’s tempting to single out the percussion players for special praise, but everyone was in top form under the direction of Susanne Sheston…”Opera News, 05/2022

"Maestro Sheston was in sensitive control throughout the evening, from an excellent reading of David Diamond’s musical impressions of scenes from Romeo and Juliet onward…In partnership with soprano Jennifer Black, Maestro Sheston handled Strauss’s artistic vision with telling effect…The concluding work, Gustav Mahler’s “Titan” Symphony, is a masterpiece of myriad colors and moods, and Maestro Sheston’s tour de force interpretive understanding and skillful management at the podium, along with outstanding cooperation from the orchestra, produced an unbeatable closing impression for the RSO’s season." --The Ridgefield Press, 5/14/16

"Wednesday's Deer Valley Music Festival concert was a treat for Mozart and Haydn lovers in that the program consisted of equal portions of both composers...Joining the Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra were members of the Utah Symphony Chorus, who opened and closed the concert. Both ensembles, under the direction of Susanne Sheston, gave a wonderfully dynamic and engaging performance…Starting the concert was Haydn's brief but glorious Te Deum...Sheston captured the exuberance of the piece admirably. She coaxed a vibrant performance out of her forces, with the orchestra playing clearly and with fine articulation and the chorus singing in top form…Mozart's "Vesperae Solemnes de Confessore," K. 339, which ended the concert, was equally rapturous…Once again, Sheston did a fine job, getting a wonderfully dimensioned performance from her musicians. The performance was articulate and well executed and captured the wonderful lyricism of the music." --Deseret News, 8/03/07
